Description: This is my butterfly tattoo! It’s on the inside of my right ankle. I got it done at Body Mod in the Annapolis Mall, in Maryland. Dusty was the artist, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. (: It’s my only one so far, but I’m planning on getting quite a few more (preferably done by Dusty, or at least someone at Body Mod). I also got my bellybutton pierced there (by Liz), and I had great experiences both times. I’d highly recommend that shop; all the artists there are talented. I know butterfly tattoos are common, so I wanted to talk about the meaning behind mine. If anyone’s not familiar with the Butterfly Project, it’s a campaign where, if you self-harm, you can draw a butterfly on yourself to kind of remind yourself not to. I have a bit of a history with that, and I stopped a while back. I got this tattoo as a little reminder not to go back, and it means quite a lot to me.
As a side note, I DO NOT agree with or support underage tattoos however not only was this piece finely executed, it has a very important meaning (not that meanings are the be all and end all) and so I thought it it was right to post this submission). Again DON’T GET A TATTOO IF YOU’RE UNDERAGE!
